The creator economy is growing rapidly across Africa, but monetization remains limited and uneven. Creators rely heavily on ads and brand deals, while fans who play a major role in discovery and distribution are rarely rewarded for their impact. Content is consumed and shared widely, yet ownership and value flow remain centralized. Sessions was created to rethink this dynamic. The platform introduces a fan-powered model where content can be collected, shared, and resold. Fans who help content spread can earn from its growth, while creators benefit from both direct sales and community-driven distribution.

Project Overview
At its core, Sessions is designed to make digital ownership simple, accessible, and rewarding especially for a mobile-first, Africa-focused audience by abstracting complex Web3 mechanics and offering seamless wallet, payout, and identity verification flows.
The objective of Sessions was to build a fan-powered creator platform that enables creators to monetize content beyond ads, while allowing fans to participate in ownership and earn from the growth of the content they support. The project aims to redefine the creator–fan relationship by turning passive consumption into active participation through collecting, reselling (Fanit), livestreaming, and ticketed experiences.
Collaborating with the Sessions team, We set out to design a fan-powered creator platform that reimagines how digital content is owned, shared, and monetized. The project required a thoughtful approach to product and UX design, ensuring that complex concepts such as content ownership, resale, and wallets were translated into a simple, intuitive experience for everyday users. My role involved defining the product flows, designing the end-to-end UI/UX, and creating interactive prototypes that balanced social engagement with financial actions. Working closely with engineers and stakeholders, we focused on seamless onboarding, accessible wallet interactions, and creator-friendly tools such as uploads, analytics, livestreams, and ticketing. The outcome was a cohesive platform that empowers creators to earn sustainably while enabling fans to actively participate in the growth of the culture they support.
Approach
Refining user journeys to make complex ownership and monetization feel effortless.
Designing Fanit: The resale mechanism at the core of Sessions required translating complex ownership and revenue-sharing logic into a simple, social interaction. My approach focused on making Fanit feel as intuitive as sharing content, while ensuring transparency, fairness, and trust for both fans and creators.
Working closely with the team, we continuously mapped, tested, and refined end-to-end user journeys to ensure that actions like collecting, fanning, reselling, and earning followed familiar social patterns rather than technical workflows. Instead of exposing users to Web3 concepts upfront, the team focused on progressive disclosure introducing complexity only when it was necessary. By aligning Fanit with intuitive actions such as tapping, sharing, and tracking engagement, we reduced cognitive load while preserving transparency and trust. Every design decision was evaluated based on one core question: does this step move the user forward without breaking flow? This collaborative, journey-first approach ensured that Sessions remained accessible to both fans and creators while supporting a scalable, fan-powered economic model.
Process
My design process was a deliberate balance of strategic thinking, collaboration, and user-centered design. Each stage was carefully planned and iterated on from refining user journeys with the team to designing intuitive interfaces that simplify complex ownership and monetization flows ensuring a seamless experience for both fans and creators.
The process began with creating detailed personas and mapping user journeys for both fans and creators to understand their needs, behaviors, and motivations within a fan-powered creator economy. We analyzed pain points in content discovery, ownership, and monetization to ensure the platform would be intuitive and rewarding for all user types. This was followed by the development of wireframes and interactive prototypes, with a strong focus on key flows such as collecting content, Fanit resale, wallet interactions, livestreaming, and ticketing. Each design element was iteratively refined based on feedback from user testing sessions, ensuring clarity, engagement, and ease of use. Throughout the project, constant collaboration with the development team was essential to align technical feasibility with design intent. Regular design reviews and iterative adjustments ensured that the final product maintained high standards of usability, security, and accessibility. The integration of user feedback at every stage enhanced the app’s functionality, resulting in a platform that empowers creators, rewards fans, and simplifies complex Web3 mechanics into an intuitive social experience.
